Details
To promote respect for intellectual property rights and help instil a creative culture, the Hong Kong Intellectual Property Society and the Taiwan Foundation Against Copyright Theft jointly organise a cross region video clip competition. Senior secondary students, tertiary students and the general public from Taiwan and Hong Kong are welcome to join the competition and produce half-minute video clips aiming at encouraging creativity and promoting public awareness of intellectual property rights as entries to the competition.
Competition Theme
To promote intellectual property rights protection, encourage creativity and advocate respect for others¡¦ creative efforts. Examples of possible topics are file-sharing on the Internet, nourishment of a creative culture, knowledge about protection of creative efforts in a business setting, and experiences in safeguarding against infringement at school.

Video clip duration: 30 seconds(could not more or less than 30 seconds, otherwise the entrants will be disqualified)

Languages:
Entrants may choose to use Cantonese, Putonghua, Taiwanese or English as the main language of expression in their entries and should:
1) add Chinese/English subtitles to their entries; or
2) submit a Chinese/English dialogue script together with the entry.
- Each entrant should not submit more than one entries but can join two categories maximum, Each entry should be submitted by:
1) Sending in one DV(PAL) or DVD with two copies of the entry; or
2) Uploading the entry onto the competition website. The file size of each video clip should not exceed 2 MB

Each entrant should complete the application form in full together with a brief description of the entry in not more than 150 words, and submit four film stills (in 4R or JPEG format)

If the filming of the entry is sponsored or subsidised by any organisation or academic institution, details of the sponsorship or subsidy should be clearly stated on the entry form.

The entrant should ensure that the sponsoring party/parties will not interfere with his creation and the ownership of intellectual property rights thereof.

Entrants should be the originators of their entries and have sole ownership of the copyright and interests in the intellectual property rights (include all licensed materials).

Unauthorised use of another person¡¦s music, video or film clips is not allowed. All entries must be original works. Songs or background music included in the video clips must be original works or downloaded from the designated official website. Any breach of the rules will result in disqualification.

Entrants shall bear the full liability for any breach of copyright laws arising from their entries and the organisers shall assume no responsibility for it.

Entries should be productions completed on or after 1 January 2007.

Entrants in Hong Kong region must abide by the laws of Hong Kong in the course of production.
